There is a nice variety of courses and some great scenery. This is my first Hot Shots Golf game and it make me want more. The game is easy to learn and fun to play. The characters are very entertaining and each one has his/her own personality. I would definitely recommend this for kids and adults.
Great price, timely delivery, the product was in pristine condition. Played with out of town family members the whole weekend and everyone had a great time.
If you're familiar with Hot Shots Golf from the other Playstation systems then you know all you need, this is more of the same.For all of the other uninitiated people in Cyberspace, this is the best golf game out there, just buy it. 'nuff said.
What I mean is, the ball will visibly change course on it's way to the cup averting an Eagle score on a difficult hole. Easy to operate controls get you into the game fast and skills improve quickly. Club selection is limited to what the game wants you to use in a given situation. I agree that the game loads fairly quickly so you won't have time to go for a refreshment.
I've played with both shot styles and there are problems with both but they are minor. Unfortunately, the game also suffers from a bad case of "difficulty" Japanese style which results in a lot of frustration. A Wii style wrist band wouldn't be a bad idea when the game goes into "You aren't that good" mode. This is a fun game to play. So there is always a trade off. I played a challange last night where the AI player scored 4 birdies in a row, three with chip-ins and one with a 40 plus foot putt.
These comments aside, the game is an improvement over the majority I've played. It's addictive in that you don't want to quit until you finish this next game.
You can't change the shot style once you have started the match. The graphics are really good, especially the cut scenes between matches.
The traditional style results in shorter drives but is much easier to use when pitching. Several holes have ball magnets in the water hazards which attract any ball hit within 50 yards.
"Perfect" shots land far short (and typically in a bunker or water hazard). The advanced shot style is good for driving but terrible for pitching.
I like it a lot.
Ordered the game and was playing in about three days. Good graphics and fun to play
